             FEBRUARY 2012  

Hello Friends,

      Moving into the month of February is always a welcome sight.  Let’s just hope Punxsutawney Phil doesn’t see his shadow on Ground Hog Day for six more weeks of winter.

      We start the month with a Pool Tournament that is held each Wednesday at 6PM in the club house. There is an entry fee and cash prizes awarded to the most skilled or luckiest pool sharks.

     The Weekly Euchre Tournaments are each Thursday beginning at 7PM.  There is a $6 entry fee and cash prizes are awarded.  Come on down and try your luck. Win or lose you’ll have fun. 

   The Annual WABBC Ladies Auction will be held on Saturday February 4^th beginning at 1PM.  You’re bound to find things you like at bargain prices. The proceeds help finance the many activities sponsored by our Boat Club and the Ladies Auxiliary.  It’s a very worthy cause.

  The Super Bowl Party/Pitch-in will be Sunday Feb. 5^th at 6PM. Please bring a dish to share.

 The Daytona 500 Party/Pitch-in will be Sunday Feb. 26^th at Noon. Please bring a dish to share.

    The Weekly Still Board Gun Shoots are held each Sunday beginning at 10AM.   You shoot what you bring as long as it’s chambered for our 12 gauge shotgun shells.    Arrive by 9:30 to register to shoot or just come down and enjoy a delicious and reasonably priced breakfast.

     February Steak Nights will be the Fridays of the 10^th and 24^th.    Delicious ribeye steaks cooked to order with baked potato, salad & roll for only $12.  Steak sandwiches and kids’ meals are also available.   Meals are offered from 6 – 8 PM.  And as always, Karaoke will continue every Friday night at 8PM for members & invited guests of members.  Karaoke is not open to public.

    Dirty Dawgs will play for our ♥ Valentine’s Day Dance ♥pitch-in on Saturday February 11th^th.   And Rusted River will play on Band Night/Pitch-in Saturday February 25^th.  If you plan to eat the food, please bring your favorite dishes to share on those nights.  The dances are a great way to meet and greet other members who enjoy a fun time out.  Come on down and join us. 

         The Men’s Monthly Meeting is Tuesday February 7^th at 6PM.  The Ladies’ Monthly Meeting is Tuesday February 14th at 6PM.  The Riders Group Meeting is Tuesday February 28^th at 6:30PM.    Please try to attend these meetings and participate in a positive manner.   

  Please check your membership cards to be sure your DUES are current.  Some cards expired Dec. 31, 2011.  If your dues are not current, you do not qualify for the drawings and you may not purchase alcoholic beverages. You may pay your dues at the bar.

   A word to the wise:  Remember your sweet heart or someone who is special in your life on ♥Valentine’s Day February 14^th ♥.  It’s always nice to receive special attention right?

* A married couple has been driving in the country without speaking for half an hour, an earlier argument having led to the frosty atmosphere. As they pass a field full of pigs, the wife sarcastically asks, “Relatives of yours?”  “Yep,” the husband replies, “In-laws.”  

* A woman was taking a nap on Valentine’s Day afternoon. After she awoke, she told her husband, “I just dreamed that you gave me a gorgeous necklace for Valentines Day! What do you think it means?” “You’ll know tonight.” he said. That evening, her husband came home with a small package for her. Thrilled, she opened it and found a book titled “The Meaning of Dreams.”

* An elderly man pondered whether his wife’s hearing was deteriorating. One night he crept up behind the sofa where she was seated and said “Darling, can you hear anything?". No response. So he moved a bit closer and asked her again. Still no response. He then moved right up to her ear and asked again. She shouted "For the third time Albert, yes I can hear you".
